The primary objective of the Patient Care Coordinator is to proactively manage patient flow while assuring effective, quality care. This is a highly visible position within the organization that requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. In partnership with leadership, the Patient Care Coordinator supports the Emergency Department’s daily patient care and personnel needs. Duties include leading shift huddles, completing patient assignments, supporting daily operations, assuring staff meals, first-line resolution of patient/staff/provider complaints, elevating appropriate items to departmental leadership. Additionally, the Patient Care Coordinators support organizational quality and throughput goals as well as completion of required daily reports and checklists.
