To improve the health status of the community is a driving force in our mission and as a RN Service Line Coordiator for Surgery at a Level 1 trauma and burn center, your role as a RN in the Operating Room plays an integral part in directly affecting those we serve.

With an average of over 14,000 cases a year and 24 licensed operating rooms (including 2 hybrid OR’s and a Burn Unit OR), you will have the unique opportunity to learn from multiple disciplines, develop close relationships with surgeons and anesthesiologists alike, and be able to make a difference in the lives of thousands. You can expect to see the following types of cases: trauma, burn, pediatrics, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, gynecology, surgical oncology, general surgery, robotics, oral and maxillofacial (OMFS), urology, ophthalmology, plastics, dental, and more!
Responsible for assisting the Unit Manager in the planning, organizing, and directing of patient care services. Leadership skills needed to include, but not limited to, conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, coaching/mentoring others. Participates in necessary team meetings, and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
• 1.5 years of registered nursing experience in Surgery
PREFERRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience with mentorship, education and training of staff nurses
• Experience as a Service Line Coordinator or similar position in an acute care hospital
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
• Current State of California Registered Nurse license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA)
• National Certification related to specialty and applicable to role within 1 year of hire or entry into job
PREFERRED:
• Certified Operating Room Nurse (CNOR)
