Registered Nurse - Pediatrics (Part-time, Nights)

We are an 8 bed general pediatric unit caring for patients from infancy through adolescence. The pediatric nurses develop a comprehensive skill set by caring for a wide range of ages and diagnosis. Our pediatric hospitalists support the nursing staff and work together closely to develop and carry out individualized care for our young patients and their families. In addition to working on the pediatric unit, our pediatric nurses are also cross trained to work on our mother/baby unit, which offers an additional set of skills and allows them the opportunity to work when there are no pediatric patients. Our pediatric unit is a locked unit for the added safety of our patients and staff.

We currently have a 7p-7a, Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) position open on our Pediatrics unit. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of direct patient care, education, and serves as a leader of the patient care team. The RN will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.

Requirements

• Must be an RN licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Minimum of one (1 year) RN experience required
  • Experience working in Pediatrics preferred
• Must have a strong desire to work with a high-risk and complex patient population.
• Must have solid critical thinking skills and a strong application of the nursing process.
• Must have effective adherence to infection control practices
• Positive attitude, with enthusiasm for caring for our community
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective time management skills
