This job serves as the Program Coordinator for the Burn Center to ensure the standards of the State of Virginia and the American Burn Association are met in addition to functioning as the Burn Center Nurse Clinician. This job demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the complex patients and their responses to actual or potential health problems. Assist the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This job provides direction, education, leadership and accountability for program development, implementation and evaluation in area of responsibility. Includes professional development and empowerment of staff as well as management of resources to promote desired outcomes with attention to quality, efficiency and cost.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience of which two (2) years must be working with burn patients
Experience with State Trauma and American Burn Association Verification Standards
Advance Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership Role experience
Experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptorship, in-services education, etc.) Academic health care experience
Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field or within one semester of completion.* If the Masters Degree is not in Nursing, then it is required to have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
Education/training PREFERRED: Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program Certification in specialty area

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Negotiable with immediate supervisor in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.

Will generally work day shift, but requires flexibility for special projects or to meet organization and staff needs.
