Performs a variety of duties relating to the patient and the environment, reporting observations to the nurse in charge. Works the assigned unit based on need designated by the nursing supervisor.
Education and Formal Training: High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of approved Nurse Aide I course. Current North Carolina Nurse Aide registry listing verified through the N.C. Division of Facility Services. BCLS certification required. New employees will be expected to attain current certification as defined by hospital policy. Employees who do not attain or maintain their certification as required by policy will not be allowed to work or use PTO and may be subject to further disciplinary action.
Work Experience: Prior experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Some knowledge of nursing measures used to provide personal hygiene and comfort; procedures and techniques in giving simple treatment in providing bedside nursing care.
