Nurses in our Premium Paid Weekend Shift Program earn an hourly bonus on top of their base rate. We currently have an opening for Clinical Nurse for a part time day shift weekend premium.


The Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.

HC8-Progressive Care, Urology, Gynecological Oncology Progressive Care Unit
(includes women’s health and gender reassignment surgery patients)

Come join this 32-bed telemetry progressive care unit that specializes in Urology and Women’s Health. Patients come from all over the region to be cared for by our multidisciplinary team. Urology has ranked in the top 20% in the U.S. News and World Report for the last four years and we are the only team in the region to take care of patients following gender reassignment surgery.

This unit is fast-paced, but takes pride in having exceptional teamwork, giving support to each other while providing great care to the patients. Working on this unit will allow you to gain skills in telemetry, foley catheters, ostomies, surgical incisions, drains, wound management, epidural care, and end of life care just to name a few. Our patients are frequently going through life-changing events. These can range from bladder removal leading to new ostomies, to patients finally getting the gender-affirming surgery they’ve been working towards. Our nurses are on the frontline of helping them during this transition by providing compassionate care. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Patient Care Services - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • ADN prepared nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete BSN degree by the fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHS. Must have at least 2 years of experience first for this unit.
  • BLS Certification
  • Registered Nurse in State of Kansas or compact license
  • 6 months or more experience as a Clinical Nurse
