As part of the region’s premier academic medical center, The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas is a world-class healthcare provider and destination for complex care and diagnosis. We are driven by our commitment to service, continuous improvement and to the highest degree of excellence. Collaboration between physicians, nurses, researchers, educators, and other professionals who share their expertise leads to exciting discoveries and life-changing treatments for the people we serve. Our cancer nurses are skilled in providing holistic cancer care and have a passion for the care of oncology patients. Nurses are valued members of the care team and have an integral role in the success of our patients. We are a patient-centered team with compassion to support and advocate for those during their cancer journey. Our team cherishes building relationships with patients and their caregivers and value the fact they entrust us with their care.

The University of Kansas Health System supports staff in obtaining chemotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and provides a safe space through simulation to practice administrating chemotherapy. We recognize the importance of providing excellent cancer care, so professional certification is encouraged. There is an incentive to become and continue to be professionally certified.
