RN Cardiac Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology

Opportunity Overview:

The Short Stay RN provides clinical care and uses coordination skills for every patient served. Nursing care is delivered using the Eskenazi Health Model of Care-Synergy, the ability to coordinate with the patient and family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to meet patient care needs. Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health values.

What You Can Expect:

Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center, due to our high acuity, team members in this role should demonstrate:

• Critical thinking skills
• Competency in assessing, responding to patient status or needs, and interpreting results
• Recognizes and reacts to changes in patient status, documents and reports changes

Unit Layout:

• 6 bed unit that can flex to 8-12 beds max
• 3:1 to 4:1 depending on patient acuity 

Types of Patients:

• Variety of post procedure patients (surgical and cath lab)
• Observation patients from Emergency Department
• If unit is closed--may float to other units that need assistance 

Am I Qualified:

• Minimum of 1 year working clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse or eligibility for license.
• Current BLS certification; other certifications may be required in specific units of practice
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited college or university. Must obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire date for all ASN graduates hired on or after 3/14/16.

Scheduling:

Short Stay RN's work three 12 hour shifts
