Description:

The Registered Nurse for Hospice Night Call provides skilled nursing care for Hospice home care patients following physicians’ orders and the established Plan of Care. The primary responsibilities for this evening and night on-call position are as follows:

  • Triage phone calls received after hours to provide phone support or home visits for current Hospice patients
  • Make home visits to provide care as appropriate
  • Admit patients to Hospice services (including associated documentation)
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team ensuring the enactment of the Plan of Treatment
  • Is seldomly called on but expected to cover night shift staffing shortage at the Shenandoah House. Reports to the Clinical Coordinator.

Experience Requirements

  • Requires one year of RN experience

License Requirements

  • Virginia State RN License
  • Virginia State Driver's License

Skill Requirements

  • Physical assessments, IV therapy, wound care, communication, organization and documentation
