Our Renal Medical Telemetry unit has 19 beds with Central Tele monitoring capability. This team cares for patients with various Medical Surgical Telemetry conditions and disease processes while specializing in Renal/Acute Kidney Injury. Case types include acute kidney injury, chronic kidney injury, sepsis, heart failure, renal disease, peritoneal dialysis, acid base imbalances and unique autoimmune diagnoses. The nurses on this team often work with a multitude of medical devices including but not limited to chest tubes, NG tubes, and trachs to name a few. The leadership for this team includes the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse and ADT nurse. The Nurse Manager has an awesome clinical background and has been the leader of this team for over 5 years. Not only is she a fabulous and encouraging leader, but also a great teacher with a wealth of clinical knowledge. This team loves new grads and is very supportive of team members utilizing 5 West Renal Medical Telemetry to build a strong foundation and springboard into a specialty when the time is right (or to be like other nurses on our team and enjoy your career within Renal Medical Telemetry’s awesome team). Our high acuity cases enables this unit to grow SRHS Strong RNs while striving to provide excellent, safe patient care!

The Registered Nurse recognizes, and addresses patient needs or issues to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction, quality, and outcomes. The Registered Nurse provides, directs, and coordinates professional nursing care for all patients following established clinical nursing standards and practices. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, nursing judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Participates in interdepartmental collaboration with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve the highest level of desired patient outcomes.

• Current RN License to practice in South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement.
• Certifications required upon hire or prior to patient care being rendered
