Responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total patient care service during their assigned shift. In the absence of Administrator and/or Nursing Director, the Nursing Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for administrative decision and appropriate notification of Administrator on call.
This RN, House Supervisor requires strong critical thinking is required of the RN, House Supervisor who are responsible for staffing, liaison matters involving staff, patients, families, and physicians, scheduling procedures after hours, along with coverage of ONE CALL transfers after hours, bed placement and patient throughput and responding to Code 99 and RRT's. The RN, House Supervisor works with the support of an office assistant.
Current Texas RN license; BSN preferred
CPR certified from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Minimum 2-3 yrs nursing experience in a hospital setting as a staff nurse required
2-yrs Supervisory and/or Leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong critical thinking ability
Highly organized with excellent follow-through skills
Able to multi-task and tolerate multiple interruptions
Ability to communicate effectively with excellent verbal and/or written communication; professional, friendly, helpful
Ability to work with diverse members of the health care team
Ability to work independently and maintain effectiveness in high stress situations
Proficient computer use; Microsoft Office, EMR EPIC documentation
