We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Quality RN Specialist to join the Team!

What You’ll Do

The Quality RN Specialist will assist the Quality Director in managing and implementing the quality improvement program for the hospital. He/she will provide education and care coordination ensuring compliance with quality reporting metrics and best practices to best meet the needs of patients.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Coordinate the process of monitoring, measuring, and assessment of patient care and support of systems to achieve high quality, safe, cost effective healthcare services.
  • Assists with the hospital Quality Improvement Plan development, review, revision, and implementation.
  • Coordinate and integrate QI plans and processes for individual services
  • Facilitates, develops, and implement special projects as assigned by the CMO and Director of Quality
  • Assists with public reporting through Q-Net and other pay-for-performance programs and initiatives, holding staff and departments accountable for achieving performance goals
  • Establishes quality measurement and improvement activities, including methods to track implementation of action plans following site surveys and critical events reviews.
  • Assists with reporting and communication of quality improvement initiatives, quality and patient safety awareness, safety culture survey administration, and recognition programs.
  • Assists with Core Measure staff and reporting
  • Facilitate CQI teams as requested. Facilitate planning sessions as requested.
  • Collaborates with Infection Control Department
  • Teaches quality and patient safety concepts to clinicians, trainees, and other staff during orientation and in various educational settings.
  • Leads the internal root cause analyses, apparent cause analysis and failure modes and effects analyses and debriefings
  • Will evaluate department goals and will report to the applicable director(s) and/or the Director of Quality
  • Promotes a culture of safety, high-reliability, patient and staff engagement, and performance excellence.
  • Develops, evaluates, and maintains quality dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Supports other employees of the department
  • Maintains current competency and expertise in quality and patient safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • 3-5 years of acute care medical/surgical unit experience required
  • 3-5 years quality and/or quality reporting experience required
  • Current valid NJ State professional Registered Nurse license
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills: (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
