The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) is one of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind in the Southeast and has among the best survival rates in the nation for bone marrow transplants. Northside Hospital’s BMT Program is committed to providing clinical excellence and compassionate care for patients undergoing blood marrow and stem cell transplantation.
The Experienced Nurse Residency is designed for RN’s with 1+ years’ experience in an acute care setting, who would like to grow their nursing careers with the Bone Marrow Transplant and Leukemia populations. The program will consist of classroom time and time spent with patients directly on the floor.
