Registered Nurse, Urology, Part-Time, Days, Albuquerque, NM

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urology team in Albuquerque, NM.

This part-time job is located with Lovelace Medical Group, a multispecialty provider group, which includes clinics, doctors and advanced practice providers in a broad range of specialties and primary care, and provides patients with exceptional health care through the support of Lovelace Health System hospitals and technology.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, to include patient care and staff management assigned to the RN in his/her charge.

  • Adhere to and maintain patient scheduling according to doctor’s protocol. Review, update, and maintain doctor’s schedules. Maintain patient chart accuracy: treat as legal documents, authenticate charts, signatures, initials, and titles. Check for proper year, name, date of birth, allergy stickers, and up-to-date immunizations

  • Call patients with lab results or send result cards to patients as directed by physician. Enter patient reminder messages into computer. Return patients’ phone calls. Call in prescription refills to pharmacies. Stay current with completing insurance and referral forms and proper billing procedures, including checking PSRs for appropriate charges.
  • Schedule outside procedures, labs, and radiological exams for patients; assist in admitting patients to hospital, including obtaining prior authorization from insurance company; and calling hospital for admit. Direct and schedule drug reps.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Registered Nurse Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • One (1) year experience preferred
  • Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire) and BLS
  • Must be trained in venipuncture and CPR
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Management skills; strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Works well in a team setting
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
