REGISTERED NURSE ACADEMY BEGINS NOVEMBER 1, 2021
The Registered Nurse Academy program provides a (3) three month orientation to bridge the gap between educational nursing program graduation/obtainment of licensure and the demanding expectations of an independent nurse in the acute care setting. With ongoing support and education from clinical nurse preceptors, nurse educators and nurse managers, participants will navigate an orientation process through a rotation within the Medical, Surgical and Telemetry units. Upon successful completion of the program and satisfaction of CMC customer service and core values assessment standards, participants will work full-time as assigned (Medical, Telemetry, and Surgical). Academy graduates will be placed into nursing positions as the positions become available.
Associates degree (ADN) in Nursing required.
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in Nursing preferred.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina in good standing (SCLLR)
BLS Certification Required.
Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong PC skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high stress situations required.
Occasional exposure to difficult patients.
Potential exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens.
Most work performed while standing, with a high amount of walking and moving around within a confined area occurs.
Medium - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear to process instructions and safety code and alarms required.
