Overview

Emory Saint Joseph's Endoscopy/GID Lab

RN, GI Endoscopy Lab, 6:00a to 2:30p, call required

Who we are: A patient-centered 5 suite endoscopy department performing basic and advanced gastroenterology procedures such as:
• EGD
• Colonoscopy
• ERCP
• EUS
• Small Bowel Enteroscopy with single balloon
• Stent placements
• Bravo capsule placement
• Motility studies
• Capsule Endoscopy
We also perform pulmonary procedures such as:
• Bronchoscopy
• EBUS
• Thoracentesis

We are 100% self-contained as we pre-assess our patients via phone, pre-op, intra-op, post-op and discharge our patients all right here in the unit. We have over 40 physicians on staff and perform approximately 20-35 procedures per day. We serve in-patients as well as outpatients.


Most of our procedures are performed under the guidance of an anesthesia team, however, some procedures are performed with Moderate Sedation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
