Our Medical Pulmonary Telemetry Step Down unit has 22 Tele and Oxygen monitored beds in state-of-the-art rooms set up specifically for our nurses. This innovative unit has electronic white boards allowing appropriate patient data to flow directly from Epic, huge bathrooms and showers that have space to wheel into, vital sign machines, suction regulators, bed side commodes, ceiling lifts, computers in each room, etc. Our rooms were set up by nurses for nurses - allowing our team to provide the best care possible to our patients (without having to look for equipment). The typical Nurse to Patient Ratio is 1:3/4 (depending upon acuity) and this unit’s case types include Medical Surgical Telemetry with a focus on respiratory/lung. The nurses may work with Sepsis, COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, COVID, cardiac drips, chest tubes, Bipap, Vaptherm (40 liters of oxygen), AirVo (upto to 60 liters of oxygen), tracheeostomies, NG tubes, etc. The leadership for this team has been with SRHS for 20+ years with an awesome clinical background to include education. She has worked as the leader of this team for the past 8+ years and is not only a terrific, motivating leader, but also a great teacher with a wealth of clinical knowledge. This team loves new grads and is very supportive of team members utilizing PV 6 Medical Pulmonary Telemetry Step Down to build a foundation and springboard into a specialty (or to be like other nurses on our team and enjoy your career within PV 6’s awesome team). Our diverse patient population and case types enables our unit to grow SRHS Strong RNs!
The Registered Nurse recognizes and addresses patient needs or issues to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction, quality and outcomes. The Registered Nurse provides, directs and coordinates professional nursing care for all patients following established clinical nursing standards and practices. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• Current RN License to practice in South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement.
• Certifications required upon hire or prior to patient care being rendered
