Job Description

Covenant Health is seeking a full time, day shift Certified Nurse Midwife with the Trisha Reynolds - CNM at Covenant Medical Group.

Job Summary:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for the health care of patients of OB/GYN Consultants under the supervision of physicians and collaboration of practice manager. In addition, provides clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of health education and patient care. Provides skilled observations and health assessments of patients including history, physical examinations, and appropriate interventions.

Essential Functions:

  • Greets patients and responds to patients questions or needs in a timely manner.
  • Reviews lab results and notifies patients and physicians as needed.
  • Performs routine diagnostic test, assist physicians during treatments, read NST's, administers medications, and perform procedures authorized by doctors.
  • Communicates clearly with patients regarding follow up expectations and processes.
  • Thoroughly document information relevant to patient care in patient chart. Documents all visits, procedures, and medications to ensure proper billing.
  • Works in collaboration with other departments to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Communicates clearly with physicians, follow physicians orders and recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education :

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Successful Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program

Experience :

  • 2 years of experience in area of specialty

License/Certification:

  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Midwife through the New Mexico Board of Nursing
  • BLS within 30 days of hire

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience :

  • Customer Service experience in a medical office setting
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable
