VCU Health System's PediatricICU is seeking a Full Time Clinical Nurse. This multi-specialty Pediatric ICU is a state-of-the-art facility that accommodates the unique needs of seriously or critically ill infants, childrenand adolescents. A physician is in the unit 24 hours a day, making it theonly Level 1 PICU in Central Virginia. The unit is equipped with advancedtechnology and with our interdisciplinary team, your child can achieve the bestoutcomes possible from critical illness or injury in a caring and respectfulmanner.
Integratestechnical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient andfamily.
Assiststhe health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance ofwellness, and provision of comfort.
Providesdirection, education, and begins to acquire leadership skills at the unitlevel.
Deliversand accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group ofpatients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan ofcare.
Safelyadministers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/orinteractions.
*Completion of a BaccalaureateDegree in Nursing from an accredited program within 5 years of hire, if notcurrently BSN-prepared or higher, will be a requirement for continuedemployment.
CurrentRN licensure in Virginia or compact state, or eligible for licensure.
AHA BLS HCP Certificationor equivalent.
BaccalaureateDegree in Nursing from an accredited RN nursing program.
AcademicMedical Center experience as a registered nurse.
Registerednurse experience with similar patient population in either an acute caresetting or as applicable to area of desired practice.
Selected applicantswill be slotted into appropriate levels for this position based on theirexperience and qualifications.
