5 West is a 19-bed Renal Med Surg Telemetry unit. The primary population served is those with acute and chronic renal failure and those patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Peritoneal Dialysis is administered at the bedside by RNs with demonstrated competency in this skill. The most common category pf patients on the unit will include acute kidney injury, septicemia_disseminated infections, heart failure, other pneumonia, and pulmonary edema_respiratory failure. This unit is for clinical rockstars! We are seeking team members who have awesome clinical skills! Many of our cases have 3 to 4 pages of medicines and deal with very complex issues. We work very closely with Critical Care and we are experts throughout the house with Peritoneal Dialysis.

PRN associates may have flexibility, working with their Manager, in preparing their scheduled hours to work. Working schedules shall be arranged according to unit need and based on the associate's availability. The PRN associate will work with their Manager on a four to six (4-6) weeks calendar of availability. Once the shifts are confirmed, the shifts shall be considered as pre-scheduled and absences are treated as such. PRN associates may be requested to work additional hours as the need arises.

$36/hour

Unit based - All stated requirements for unit the associate is hired into will be fulfilled.

Minimum 4 hours per shift

3 weekend or night shifts every 6 weeks

32 hours per pay period or

832 hours per year

Current SC Nursing License required and ACLS, BCLS preferred. Experienced RN's are encouraged to apply. The qualified candidate must have at least one year of RN experience to qualify.

The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, utilizes knowledge and skills to provide direct age-specific and culturallly appropriate care through the use of the nursing process based on knowledge of principles of growth and development, serves as a clinical resource, participates in patient and staff education, demonstrates leadership, and serves as a preceptor.
