The Venice Family Clinic is a community health center that provides quality health care to people in need. Our Nurse Practitioners are committed to the populations we serve and to the mission of the clinic. Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Venice Family Clinic NP evaluates, treats, and makes appropriate diagnostic and specialty referrals for our patients. The NP is an integral part of the clinic staff, providing leadership and expertise on medical and patient care issues. Because the Venice Family Clinic has a large volunteer program, the staff NP has a unique role in orienting and providing technical support to the volunteer medical providers. This responsibility includes providing a positive role model, ensuring that volunteers understand Venice Family Clinic procedures and providing continuity of care for patients. The NP works cooperatively all Clinic departments including nursing, pharmacy, clinic coordinators, and Mental Health staff. The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care, as some evening are included in the weekly schedule.
NPI less than 6 months of NP experience
NPII 6 months or greater NP experience
MSN with a Nurse Practitioner specialty (Family or Adult NP), required
CA RN and NP license required.
National NP certification, required
Minimum 2 years experience as a NP, required
BLS required
Spanish fluency sufficient to conduct primary care visit, required
Assesses and meets consultation needs of patients, families, and staff
Provides advanced knowledge and skill to assist staff with management of difficult patient/family problems
Provides consultation on patient care issues, and clinical recommendations of care to staff across Venice Family Clinic
Utilizes multidisciplinary consultants based on patient needs
Monitors and evaluates the implementation of consultants’ clinical recommendations/interventions
Represents Department on hospital-wide/system-wide committees
Provides consultation to community/other health agencies relevant to specialty areas
