Job Description


Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Charge (1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work in the Ambulatory Surgery Service Center in Redmond, WA.

Under the direction of the Clinic Nursing Supervisor or Clinic Administrator, the Charge Nurse is responsible for directing and coordinating members of the care team, focusing on the provision of quality patient care consistent with organizational standards. Develops the patient plan of care in partnership with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patient/family.

In this position you will:

  • Assigns duties and coordinates nursing service to support excellence in overall care
  • Evaluates nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service; addresses any issues that affect the desired patient outcomes
  • Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that treatment is carried out as directed, and administered in accordance with physician's instructions
  • Facilitates the process of reporting patient status to the following shift of nursing personne
  • Manages the nursing care of assigned patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of accredited school of registered nursing
  • Current Washington State RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
  • One (1) year recent acute care RN experience in the same or a similar unit

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • ACLS certification
  • Previous charge nurse experience and/or 2 years relevant leadership experience
