Job Description


Swedish Edmonds is looking for a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Navigator (Per Diem, Days) to work in Mammography at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

Administer a navigational program that will assist and expedite the diagnostic care of patients from discovery of abnormality through diagnosis. Collaborate with providers to provide support, education, referrals, coordination of care and other assistance during the diagnosis and treatment planning stages for patient with cancer or the suspicion of cancer.

In this position you will:

  • Serve as a clinical resource for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or the suspicion of cancer and helps them navigate through the complexity of the health care system.
  • Facilitate and coordinate care with other health care disciplines, including medical imaging, surgery practices, medical and radiation oncology to facilitate the physician recommended patient care plan and the timeliness of appointments.
  • Act as a liaison to facilitate individually coordinated diagnostic care among the breast cancer care team members including primary care and specialty providers and their staff members.
  • Coordinate and maintain a database detailing clinician preferences for referrals.
  • Provide follow-up on biopsy results according to Breast Center and Swedish Edmonds Job Aid.


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five (5) years of hire
  • Continued employment by Swedish beyond five years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree
  • Or equivalent education/experience
  • Three (3) years experience in Oncology, Breast Care and health care delivery
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or comparable breast certification
