Compassionate Care for Every Life We Touch
Overlake Medical Center and Clinics Transition RN Opportunity
Inpatient/Outpatient Surgery Departments
Start Date: February 8, 2021
Overlake Hospital recognizes that continued professional development of our nursing workforce fosters our culture of excellence by providing an environment that promotes lifelong learning, growth and development. We encourage experienced nurses to explore their interests in a variety of nursing specialties through our Overlake Hospital Medical Center Transition RN program. This program is designed for experienced (minimum of one year of RN experience) nurses interested in moving into a new specialty area. Transferring into the position requires at least one year in your current position.
The Transition RN program is composed of an extended surgical orientation through the Northwest Perioperative Consortium (NWPC). The orientation is designed to provide professional practice support that includes preceptors, specialty classes, competencies, evaluation metrics, case study and evidence base project. Clinical training will be completed at Overlake and classes are held at the participating NWPC hospitals. The orientation is based on the guidelines of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). More information can be found on
