The Clinical Educator is a Registered Nurse and a member of the patient care team, who, with knowledge of the nursing process, provides leadership in applying scientific principles and professional skills aimed at caring for the ill, preventing disease and maintaining optimum health. As a direct care giver, this nurse provides direct patient care. As an educator, he/she possesses knowledge and skill in his/her area of emphasis that he/she imparts through a teaching, and learning process. He/she serves as an extension of the nurse director/manager in providing educational support for employees, patients, and their families, physicians, and ancillary personnel. He/she is responsible for communicating to these people both administrative and clinical issues. This individual will take an active role in assessing and assuring unit standards are met.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized college or university required
- Master's Degree of Science preferred
- At least three years of experience as an RN with two years experience in the area of clinical emphasis required
