The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist is a registered nurse whose practice is in nursing education and who facilitates lifelong learning for nursing staff in the UCLA Health System. The NPD Specialist for Relationship-Based Care and Professional Role Development develops, implements, evaluates, and revises programs of orientation, in-service-training, workshops, and continuing education based on assessed needs; provides direct services and/or consultation to the design, presentation, and evaluation of educational offerings. Within each of these role functions, the NPD Specialist acts as a role model, change agent, advocate for nursing practice, and expert in use of educational methods.
QualificationsWe’re seeking a strong, creative nursing leader with a current California RN license and:
Master’s degree required
CA RN License, required
MSN in Nursing Education preferred
3-5 years of recent acute care experience, required
Relationship Based care experience preferred
Knowledge of development, implementation and interpretation of Needs Assessments
Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory
Knowledge of Regulatory Agency requirements
Knowledge of program evaluation theory and methods
Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation
Ability to act as consultant in appropriate areas of expertise; prepare reports and presentations
Professional working relationship with nursing and interdisciplinary Colleagues
