Enterprise Staffing Pool (ESP) is Emory Healthcare’s internal agency/float pool covering 11 hospitals and over 300 clinic locations. Hospital locations are Emory Campus, Emory Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph’s, Emory Johns Creek, Emory Ortho & Spine Hospital, Emory Decatur, Emory Hillandale, Emory LTAC Hospital, Emory Wesley Woods Hospital, Emory Smyrna and Emory Rehab Hospital.

Capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. Identifies appropriate standards of care common to the patient population and safely provides patient care while supporting the unit's and hospital's Vision Alignment Matrix. Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. Is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family. Serves as a resource to colleagues (such as lesser experienced nurses) and strong advocate for patients/families. Develops, revises policies and procedures that pertain to specialized patient populations and/or unit and hospital practices. Functions as the charge nurse as assigned. Makes patient care assignments. Manages conflict and explores problem solving alternatives. Maintains courteous and professional behavior at all times. Assesses assigned patients; reviews medical history, admitting diagnosis, physician's orders, nursing history, and evaluation of diagnostic data. Interviews patient and family to determine patient needs; communicates these to interdisciplinary health care team members as appropriate. Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified problems, symptoms, behavioral changes. Identifies appropriate standards of care and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care; revises as appropriate. Administers direct nursing care to assigned patients based on priorities and timeframes. Evaluates patients' responses to delivery of nursing care and patient education for self care. Keeps patient and family up to date on progress. Develops, conducts and evaluates patient and family education in discussing plan of care. Teaches family and patient to perform specific procedures; documents activities. When required explains rational and/or principles behind the physiology or consequences of treatments. Determines and mobilizes equipment and resources necessary for successful patient care; seeks assistance in completing nursing interventions. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Following established charting procedures, documents all aspects of patient care to show progress or changes in patient's condition. Collaborates with members of the health care team to determine patient needs and needs of significant others in planning the treatment. Attends scheduled staff meetings. Provides clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff. Demonstrates competency in all new equipment and procedures. Serves on unit based committees. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 24 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia. BLS, ACLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
