Summary
The LPN/Office Nurse will take the patient to the exam room and take the vital signs, weight, and history. LPN will be responsible for injections, setting up surgical trays, cleaning surgical instruments and sterilizations. The LPN will maintain cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms. The LPN will review all lab reports for any abnormalities for the provider, record, and have provider sign off on all reports. The LPN will call patients at the provider's request regarding any abnormal lab reports or actions to be taken due to the lab reports, sending report to medical records for placing in patients chart. The LPN will return patient phone calls and call in prescriptions at provider's orders. The LPN is responsible for nursing procedures such as EKG, oximetry and IV's. The LPN is responsible for maintaining all medical equipment. The LPN is responsible for making sure all procedures; tests, etc. are marked on patient routing slips to ensure financial success of practice.
The LPN/Office Nurse will be cross-trained for other medical staff members as well as in other areas of the office for fill in as necessary.
