Manages and oversee unit operational functions, human resource management, special projects, and process redesign. Coordinates project teams to ensure quality implementations within established timelines. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
• Professional Nursing Certification required upon hire or within one year of hire
• Master’s degree in nursing, education, leadership, or other healthcare related field
• Minimum 1 year of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting
• Pediatric experience
• An understanding of process improvement and project management
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills
• Demonstrates the ability to organize workloads and resources
• Has strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with a variety of personnel within the hospital, including administrative and executive staff

5. May serve as unit leader in absence of manager.

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
