Job Description

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters. Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

Ochsner’s Transition-to-Practice (TTP) program is designed to move the new graduate from critical thinking to clinical reasoning and professional nursing judgement. This is done through an innovative program, based on current evidence, designed to support the new nurse through in-person and virtual interaction. The program prepares the new graduate nurse by offering hands-on skills and reflective discussions that will ease the transition into the role of professional nurse.
TTP’s innovative program curriculum will start with 4 in-person on-boarding classes that will not only have interactive clinical reasoning case scenarios but will have a RN guide you on how to chart the patient’s case in our electronic system; “charting like a nurse”. Subsequently, you will have 3 weekly in-person clinical reasoning sessions followed by regularly scheduled virtual debriefs to discuss real patient situations and clinical wins from your unit. Our program mentors will be with you to support you at every step; celebrating your wins and overcoming challenges!
