Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Sitter (1.0 FTE, Night Shift) to work at Swedish Issaquah in Issaquah, WA.

Patient Sitter will work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee, performs a variety of tasks to assist ensuring that assigned patient(s) is safe and unable to harm themselves. Performs non- direct patient care duties as assigned.

In this position you will:

  • Assist professional nursing staff with direct observation of patients by performing basic non-technical tasks under direction and supervision.
  • Provide secondary assistance with nursing staff for patient bed mobility, positioning and patient transfers.
  • Adhere to department/system procedures and standards.
  • Assure a clean and safe environment in patient room or location of care. Continue to observe patient’s environment to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff – demonstrating a positive and caring attitude; demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s emotional, social and mental health needs.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Multilingual
