Job Summary:
The RN in the Specials Dept. is accountable for the care of patients assigned to them in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Policies and Procedures of BSA. Communicate/document physiologic data identified by assessment relevant to the patient's condition and age, assesses and communicates physiological health status of the patient/family. Establishes a plan of care and expected patient outcomes based on nursing diagnosis and the patient's age, and initiates an individualized plan of care, evaluates and coordinates care with others, disciplines, and communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team. R.N. will assist with moderate sedation during interventional radiology procedures in various modalities of the Diagnostic Imaging department. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows radiation safety techniques in accordance with recommended radiation safety practices. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Additional responsibilities as designated by Diagnostic Imaging leadership team.


Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Current State of Texas RN license
Basic Life Support Certification / CPR –issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous critical care experience
Previous experience with sedation
Must possess excellent critical thinking skills
Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
Must exhibit desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Good organizational and follow-through skills
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
