Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) - Relief (Residential Care, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Emilie Court Assisted Living in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Direct the day-to-day functions, on assigned shift, of the personal care attendants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the assisted living facility.
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
  • Complete and file required record keeping forms/charts upon resident’s transfer, or assign to RCA.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians Order form or assign to RCA
  • Know and comply with regulations regarding medication assistance and delegation in assisted living.
  • Delegate qualified non licensed staff to provide medication assistance to residents requesting assistance.
  • Provide input into employee performance evaluations, make recommendations for staffing needs, and making recommendations to the Director concerning employee conduct as requested.
  • Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned when on-call.
  • Direct RCA to requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with our established procedures.
  • Review the resident’s chart for specific treatments, medication orders, diets, etc., as necessary and if questions arise while on-call
  • Participate in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes that provide instructions on how to do the job, and ensure a well-educated nursing department as requested.
  • Recommend to the Director the equipment and supply needs of your unit/shift.
  • Ensure that all personnel operate nursing service equipment in a safe manner

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Education sufficient for licensure
  • Approved Nurse Delegation class
  • Group home, boarding home or assisted living experience
  • Experience with Nurse Delegation
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Washington
  • Current CPR card
