What You’ll Do

The House Supervisor is responsible for patient care coordination on designated shifts for the HMC campus in patient care areas in collaboration with the administrator on call.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Serves as a role model to staff and peers in managing self and patient care.Assists in customer satisfaction issuesContinually assesses all patient care department staffing and resource requirements to determine staffing levels within staffing guidelines. Coordinates staffing adjustments among departments in a fair and efficient manner.
  • Responds to emergency situations as needed, coordinating care and operational decisions during each situation.
  • Prioritizes and delegates department requests to deliver safe effective care in a timely manner. Places patients based on identified needs and available resources
  • Makes rounds to determine status of all patient care units on each shift including critically ill patients, new surgical patients and patients admitted during the assigned shifts to ascertain the need for additional or modified services.
  • Provides mentoring to charge nurses, supervising, orienting, and problem solving as needed.
  • Assists other team members in providing patient care when professional skill and judgment is required.
  • Monitors the environment of the hospital, notifying of housekeeping, security and maintenance needs as indicated.
  • Monitor staff behavior in public areas and intervening if indicated, so the patient, physician, family or other customers only see “on stage” behavior.
  • Effectively communicates hospital needs to leadership staff.
  • Facilitates positive, cooperative and collaborative relationships within all units.Maintain confidentiality with all information
  • Responsible for patient flow in assigned areas to assist in moving patients across each level of care based on patient need, staffing levels and bed availability.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an RN in a hospital setting preferred
  • Current valid OK State Professional Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS, ACLS & NIHSS certification
  • Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
  • Good interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills
  • Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions
  • Ability to perform work when no directions are given, and give directions to others
  • Remain flexible, organized, professional and able to analyze, make sound decisions under stressful or crisis situations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems, equipment or programs used in the organization, knowledge of Epic a plus!
  • Demonstrate maturity and accountability

BLS, ACLS, & NIHSS
Valid OK RN license
