The CWOCN or CWON serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute, chronic, and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. The CWOCN or CWON should be prepared to provide the scope of the CWOCN or CWON practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration.

Minimum Education Requirements
Current CO licensure as a Registered Nurse
Minimum Experience Requirements
1 year RN experience
Current Colorado RN license OR Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required
Current Board Certification as a CWOCN or CWON, required (maintains recertification every 5 years per WOCNCB standards
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
