The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) department at St. Thomas More Hospital is a four-bed unit – and two RNs staff the General Medical ICU. We do occasionally have med/surg overflow patients. Most of our patients are general critical care (resp, sepsis, post op complications, CHF, some cardiac). We do not have neuro, cardiology or inpatient trauma. Our department has great teamwork, autonomy and flexibility with selfscheduling. We are a very friendly and close-knit unit. Team members work well together and genuinely care about each other. We look for candidates that have strong clinical skills, are resourceful, flexible, have good communication and values teamwork.
