The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Longmont United Hospital is a Medical/Surgical ICU department with 16 beds. We see a variety of trauma patients (GI bleeds, post MI patients requiring support devices or medication) and anyone in need of critical care, we also
provide house telemetry overflow as needed. Our department's mission is to foster evidenced-based knowledge and education advancement, delivering the best care to our patients and their families. The ICU is a dynamic environment where the patients, treatments and experiences are different every day. Job description:

Assists department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, department and/or service line. Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Acts as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintains communication and promotes cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Provides supervision to the staff; authorizing work procedures and assigning duties. Collaborates with the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • One year of recent ICU nursing experience required.
  • ASN degree required
  • BSN required within 4 years of hire or transfer required
  • CO RN License required; Current RN license in applicable state of work or current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact for eligible states
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association certification required
  • ACLS required
  • ANCC; National Nursing Certification ANCC approved required within 1 year of hire or transfer.
  • National Nursing Certification in Speciality Area (refer to facility addendum)
    • Credential: Nursing Spec

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
