Position Summary: The Nurse Practitioner I/Physician Assistant provides medical services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The NP/PA functions under established standardized protocols and works autonomously as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals to diagnose and manage clients’ health care needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Three plus years of pediatric clinical experience preferred. Basic knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize patient care tasks; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
NP - Masters’ of Science degree in Nursing from an N.L.N. accredited graduate school of nursing required. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing for “hold out as a Nurse Practitioner” as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. Current California Registered Nurse License and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Furnishing license. Current CPR/BLS Certification through the AHA
PA - A Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred plus a graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Current CA PA licensure and current PA Certification in the State of California required. Certification as a Physician Assistant by a nationally accredited Physician Assistant organization (NCCPA) is required. Current CPR/BLS Certification through the AHA
