Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Clinical Program Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Bariatic Surgery and Non-Surgical Weight Loss Services at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.

The Program coordinator will help facilitate clinical education to ALL staff where Swedish Weight Loss patient care is managed under the Medical Director - in hospital(s) inpatient/outpatient care areas (Endo/Pacu/ICU/Med-Surg).

In this position you will:

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and operations of the Bariatric surgical program. Works with the Clinic Administrator, Medical Director, participating physicians and staff to ensure success of the program.
  • Schedules meetings facilitated by MBS Director to provide ongoing support, education, and quality improvement updates to key hospital area leadership. Ensures the timeline and key deliverables of the implementation plan for any COE requirements. Responsible for establishing, reporting and achieving required targets.
  • Works in collaboration with SWLS Clinic Director and Director of Clinical Education for Swedish staff implementation of education requirements. May also assist with physician based community education seminars.
  • Conducts training and processes for the Bariatric Nurse Care Coordinators within the SWLS program as well as the teaching process and pre-operative education class for Bariatric patients scheduled for Bariatric surgery procedures to ensure that all patients receive appropriate education regarding their procedure, including preparation for the hospitalization, what to expect during hospitalization and following transition to home, skilled or rehabilitation services. Works with rehabilitation and other services to ensure comprehensive patient education and preparation is achieved and maintained on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • 5 years Professional nursing experience required with demonstration of competent clinical judgment and clinical leadership ability.
  • Experience in planning and teaching community education or comparable programs.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Education or related field.
  • Experience in care management.
