Where your work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Simulation Program Coordinator & Facilitator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift ) for Gossman Simulation Center in Seattle, WA.

The simulation program coordinator and facilitator is responsible for the development of simulation programs for specific clinical and non-clinical hospital departments. Working with the program and curriculum manager the coordinator plans and implements multi-disciplinary, in-situ, team based simulations. This position works collaboratively with the simulation team, unit and department leaders and content experts to design and implement meaningful and effective simulation programs focused on quality, safety, communication, role clarity, workflow and teamwork.

In this position you will:

  • Plans, develops and implements adult and pediatric in situ simulation programs.
  • Coordinates program development for specified clinical or non-clinical area.
  • Uses ACLS and PALS algorithms to develop appropriate scenarios. Stays current on all changes and updates to ACLS, BLS, PALS policies and practices.
  • Uses components of AHRQ TeamSTEPPS to teach and promote teamwork during emergency response.
  • Learns, operates and keeps up-to-date on all patient simulators and relevant task trainers including but not limited to Laerdal, Gaumard and Meti.
  • Implements effective debriefing to help participants explore, analyze and synthesize their actions and thought processes, emotional states and other information to improve performance in real situations. Encourages high participant engagement, which is a hallmark of strong debriefings.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • Washington State Drivers license and proof of insurance
  • Minimum10 years RN experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred qualifcations for this position include:

  • Masters in Nursing
  • PALS certification
  • Current NRP provider certification
  • Minimum 5 years of RN inpatient hospital experience
  • PALS and ACLS instructor experience
  • Experience with high-fidelity patient simulators
  • Experience in staff training or education
  • Experience with high-fidelity patient simulators.
