Job Description

We are looking for an RN II for our Critical Care Departments with Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.

Location: Mission Viejo/Laguna Beach ,CA

Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Night, 12 hours

Job Summary:

The RN independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient’s plan of care.

The Clinical Nurse oversees the duties and competencies of the healthcare team; these include the performance of nursing assistant duties, and in specified departments basic respiratory, phlebotomy, cardiology, clerical, food service, and environmental services duties as applicable.

The Clinical Nurse will practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with patients, patients' families, and ancillary departments.
  • Good math skills and basic computer data entry skills.
  • Current clinical skills of unit specific type patients.
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to organize and prepare nursing care plans, implement effective nursing care, and develop solutions to patient care problems.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing professional nursing care and dealing with patients and families often under intense situations.
  • Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion of orientation, as listed on the unit specific orientation and competency assessment form, and may also be listed on performance criteria documents.
  • Ability to coordinate and delegate team activities.

Position Requirements:

Education: Effective March 1, 2018, experienced RN’s must have 1 year of experience, must be enrolled in a BSN program at the time of hire, must show ongoing progress towards completion of their BSN, and must complete the BSN within 2 years of date of hire.

License / Certification:

  • California RN license
  • American Heart Association certification accepted for the following: BLS for Health Care Provider – (American Heart Association)
