The Registered Nurse (RN) provides age-appropriate individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care for patients from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, and which reflects the philosophy, goals and objectives of nursing services and Virginia Mason Memorial.
RN 2EW Oncology
Provides supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatments as prescribed. Evaluates oncology patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Educates patients about treatment options, procedures, and particularities of the disease.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Experience: Previous acute care nursing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Registered Nurse licensure required. American Heart Association BLS required until certified in ACLS. ACLS required within one year of hire
Additional certifications: ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Card preferred; or required within 1 year of hire and must maintain card renewal every 2 years.
