JOB SUMMARY

To support Surgical Services by ensuring the functionality of Op-Time is used in the most effective ways possible in order to optimize resource utilization, patient outcomes and customer service within Surgical Services.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from a School of Nursing with current licensure required or enrolled in a BS program (minimum of 3 courses per year)
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • Certification in EPIC/Op-Time or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
EXPERIENCE*
  • Four years experience within the surgical services environment required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Teaching experience in staff development, patient/family education, or community education
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*
  • Intermediate computer operation skills including Microsoft office, basic programming, trouble shooting and resolution of end user issues.
  • Demonstrated well developed organizational, problem solving, analytical and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply creative methods to analyze and enhance workflow efficiencies
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Works collaboratively with the EPIC Team and other Children’s resources to ensure the daily functioning of Op-Time.
  2. Implements training plans to ensure all staff are able to effectively utilize Op-Time.
  3. Assist with audit processes to ensure system is functioning as planned.
  4. Assist in adapting and developing Op-Time to meet departmental and patient care provider’s needs by managing all requests for changes, optimization, and upgrades within the Op-Time environment following the change process and implementing agreed upon changes. Leads projects teams as needed for optimization of work flow.
  5. Provides follow up on calls to the Solution Center related to end user errors or training needs. Trends all Op-time related calls to the Solution Center in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
