PRN Registered Nurse

  • The University of Kansas Hospital
  • Kansas City, KS, USA

Job Description

We currently have an opening for a PRN Registered Nurse on our Orthopedics Unit.

Unit 43-Orthopedics

Unit 43 is a 28 bed orthopedic unit that provides care for orthopedic patients of various complexity. Our unit has a team oriented culture that provides great support for the staff who work here and is known across the organization for being friendly, responsive, and helpful.

Nurses gain a wealth of knowledge and technical skills in managing complex patients that have just undergone various orthopedic surgeries. Our specialties include total joint, ortho spine, and ortho trauma. In addition to our orthopedic population, nurses have the opportunity to care for general surgery, trauma, hematology, and medicine populations as those needs arise. We are also one of the units trained to care for patients treated with radioactive iodine. Because of the complexity of our orthopedic patients combined with the additional patient populations we serve, nurses on this unit gain a broad medical surgical knowledge base while becoming experts in orthopedics!
