Job Description

Job Summary:
Establishes and maintains an efficient operation in the procurement of surgical supplies and equipment given contract management. Manages and addresses changes in the clinical needs to meet best practices in a cost efficient manner for best outcomes, both physically and fiscally. Manages the cost of acquisition of products and services for Surgical Services in order to drive the revenue associated with the Surgical Services departments. Establishes and verifies the compliance of patient charges for products utilized by surgical services given the contracts in effect.

Education requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Nursing or in a related field from a recognized college or university and five years previous work experience or training required. Revenue cycle background preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
NC RN licensure required.

Professioanl Experience Requirements:
  1. At least 5 years in healthcare management, preferably in a procurement or finance role required.
  2. At least two years' experience with automated inventory management systems and/or Lawson required.
  3. Skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access required.
  4. Knowledge and experience in quality indicators and Value Based Purchasing initiatives preferred. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other Regulatory Compliance standards required.
  5. Understqanding of hospital revenue cycle and coding guidelines required. Understanding of the impacts of patient account coding on the revenue stream is essential.
