Clinical Nurse (Registered Nurse)

  • The University of Kansas Hospital
  • Kansas City, KS, USA

Job Description

We are currently hiring for a Clinical Nurse (Registered Nurse) on our Medical Progressive Care Unit that specializes in Adult Cystic Fibrosis.

Day, night and weekend shift options potentially available!

Unit 15 Medical Telemetry/Adult Cystic Fibrosis

Unit 15 is a tight-knit team that specializes in the care of adult patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Because we treat patients with a chronic disease, we have the opportunity to personally get to know each of our patients and their families through repeat encounters and supporting them throughout the continuum of care. We provide a high level of autonomy to our patients, and do our best to make their time in the hospital fit their needs while providing the outstanding care the University of Kansas Health System is recognized for. We are an accredited CF Care Center and we work closely with our outpatient pulmonary team in constructing care plans for patients, educational opportunities for staff, and community outreach. While CF is our specialized patient population, we require a broad skill and knowledge base to care for a variety of diagnoses beyond CF on our 18-bed inpatient unit. On Unit 15, the patient and teamwork always come first! Our unit leadership is extremely supportive of professional development and staff driven improvement initiatives. Unit 15 is a great place to grow professionally and to create a meaningful career.

The University of Kansas Health System is the region’s premier academic medical center recognized for quality by:

  • U.S. News & World Report ranks The University of Kansas Hospital as the best in Kansas City and in Kansas
  • The hospital is the first in Kansas to earn Magnet designation for nursing excellence and one of few to earn it 3 consecutive times.
