Req # 2874 - Full Time, Nights, 36

    • Registered Nurse RN:
      • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
      • Required: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Connecticu
      • Required: Valid/Current CPR, AED and BLS certification
      • Preferred: Demonstrated competence in the clinical setting.
      • Preferred: Bachelor degree in Nursing
    • The Registered Nurse RN is the point of contact for all campers/staff/volunteers (roughly 100-125) as it relates to:.
  1. Administration of any medications needed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (90% of all participants at camp have no medication).  Document in camper log as required
  2. First responder for any reports of injury, illness (generally, the mos common issues are bliters from puching wheelchair, fatigue due to exercise, abrasions due to trips/falls, insect bites).  Document all contact in the "Bound Log" which is passed on for on-call physician to sign off after camp.  *Communicate any and all issues/concerns with Camp Director and parent of camper, on-call physician as warranted.
  3. Primary individual to apply sunscreen and reinforce camp policies as it relates to hydration, safety, etc.
  4. Point of contact for "surprise" inspection by State.  (Usually this involves 1-3 hours of time with inspector reviewing camp records).
