Job Summary

Serves in a variety of roles including clinician, educator, and consultant. As a clinician, promotes specialty care either directly or indirectly to patients with wound skin concerns including initial and follow-up assessments/evaluations and ordering specific follow-up when indicated. Provides education directly to healthcare consumers and caregivers, clinical staff, and healthcare providers. Serves as a consultant and liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, pharmacy and patients regarding wound care. This nurse is a self-directed expert practitioner with strong education and consultant skills.


Required Qualifications

- Require two (2) years of experience working with patient in Wound/Ostomy in a clinical setting.
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).


Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer membership in a professional organization associated with wound care.

BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing


Required License and Certs

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License


Preferred License and Certs

WCC: Wound Care Certified
