RN or LPN to perform Hospitalist administrative work which includes processing and reviewing records for securing prior authorizations on medications, and completing payer documents. Responds to concerns voiced by patient and patient care staff and works closely with the patient advocate and risk management. Serves as the liaison between home health, outcome managers, documentation specialists, and the physician Hospitalist team. Reaches out to newly admitted patients and informs them regarding hospitalist standards and informs of typical daily flow. Frequently communicates with discharged patients and families clarifying discharge plans post discharge via phone. Interviews readmitted patients who have been on the hospitalist service to determine contributing cause for readmissions and works with the physician to address contributing factors. Position involves: frequent phone communications, long periods of sitting, ability to walk throughout the campus executing job responsibilities, significant computer work and evaluation of clinical records, strong organizational and record keeping skills, strong communication skills needed, and the ability to stay calm and manage time successfully in a fast paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing with five years of experience preferred. Acute Care experience required. Current NC RN license required. ACLS required. Knowledge of MRH processes and medical providers required.
