Performs patient care while continuing to expand nursing knowledge under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Assists licensed nurses in the delivery of care by performing assigned duties. Collaboratively works with the registered nurse to deliver safe, high quality care.
Education and Formal Training: High School graduate or equivalent. Current North Carolina Aide registry preferred. Currently enrolled as a rising senior in Registered Nurse program in good standing. BCLS certification required.
Work Experience: Prior experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Required: Ability to successfully complete Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital’s nursing orientation program. Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within the legal limits of certification and hospital policies and procedures. Requires flexibility in working different shifts, week-ends and holidays and in adverse weather conditions.
